This is my 1000th post

This is the 1000th post in Nibblezware. Yes 1000th!!! I waited for a long time (well at least a day), but no one said anything about what I should say for this special 1000th post, so I decided to use it to point out my Valentine Special Magazine, which you should look to your right or below. Anyway I need to get this one out so that I can continue posting the stuff on Air Show or Android.

Couldn't have made it without faithful readers like Karirin, and Schnappi, and other great people out there whose names I don't know but I hope haven't been alienated by my ever whirling maelstrom of lesbianism and heterosexuality. Yes I am a chick, I am not bi (nice guess though by one of my CoH friends), and B1 does exist.

Happy Valentine's Day

I am in a super ebullient mood today. People who know me in real life will know that I am usually more emo and pissed than happy, due to lack of sleep and STRESS.

This is because I love Valentine's Day. Smack yourself now if you instantly think "it's just a commercial gimmick", unless you are a guy. Yes, Valentine's Day is a retail exploit of love, but think of it, 365 days in a year, you can't even pull out something nice for your other half on this special day? Then I think your relationship is pretty stagnant.

Anyway even though today *censored* and I had to miss the early part of a vendor conference that I wanted to attend (sad), but I was still in a good mood after everything was resolved. So I bought 18 donuts for all the naughty little boys (they sure made my life hell in December and January with the stunts they pulled) and their in-charge. I had overheard the boys complaining that they have to stay back because of the *censored*. I asked them if they had any plans tonight, they said no, which I thought that was kind of sad.

I bought mostly dark colors and chocolate because I knew the boys won't eat any girly colored ones and I didn't want them to fight over the nicer chocolate ones. Their in-charge told me that those boys really left the only pink one to her hahaha. I also bought a lovely tin of chocolate for Bär who is single and looking after his sick mother. Everything wasn't cheap but I wanted to spread the cheer. =D

Pedo Rilakkuma strikes!

Ever since B1 won me a Rilakkuma, I have been very obsessed with UFO catchers, reading up as obsessively as I would intellectual material. Yesterday I asked B1 to drive me to East Coast Park which was one of the places I researched as a "friendly" UFO catcher place. Supposedly it was above Burger King but when we drove past it looked more like a Korean BBQ restaurant.  Now on retrospect, the info I read was 2009. 

Which was also why, the other place where we researched, i.e. Illuma sucked shit. Illuma is one dead mall. On my first visit one or two years back, it was new and wasn't fully occupied. Now when I visited it, its shop occupancy is even worse! Anyway I strongly suspect that we mistook the arcade (don't go there it is a con job), which had MANY UFO catchers as the recommended place which was likely closed down. We should have known seeing that no one was playing any of the machines, and the prizes were pretty shit. However because we were on a high and since we were already there, we decided to try our luck and sank in S$20. After spending around ~$12, we realized that it was a con, and went to play the new Harley Davidson motorbike game. We were tempted by the 2 tokens to continue (4 tokens to play) and tapped 6 tokens in immediately. Stupid, considering how often I play at the arcade. In the end, after my first game, the machine ate up my extra 2 tokens and had the audacity to ask me to pay more. INFURIATED.

So we decided to try our luck at the Prize Station @Junction 8 again, since I like Rilakkuma so much. I named the one I had as Tobi, the druggie Relax Bear. I sank in S$5 for 6 tries (usually S$1 a try) and B1 and I took turns. On the fourth turn, I flipped the bear by accident so that her head landed on the window and her legs where her head had been. We had the lady in charge reposition the bear each time beforehand. Given this unfavorable position, B1 told me to get the lady to reposition again but I was adamant that I wanted to try it. Guess what? I read online that each machine sets a counter on the number of tries, and somehow I must have hit max counter because the catcher could actually catch the bear by the leg and drag her to the slot. We were so shocked, even the lady in charge! I was praying very hard as I saw the machine drag her along, head beating on the floor. Don't drop beforehand! Don't drop beforehand!

Prize Station was also giving away free coin banks with every win (they didn't have that last week when B1 won). Anyway B1 also nearly made it was the last try, but since I was already very high on the win, I didn't ask him to try a second time following from the new location. Stupid. =D

I thought for a long time what bear I wanted. I initially wanted the white sister bear of the same design I had. But in the end, I chose the bear who was wearing a 肚兜. I was very curious what he was wearing underneath *winks*. He was also carrying a shopping bag. Strangely the lady didn't go to the back of the shop to get me a new bear but just gave me the one from the machine. *huh*?

Now that I look closely at the bear, I regret not getting the white sister. Sigh. Just because I thought a white bear would be hard to keep clean. The bear I got is scruffy and kind of lumpy. Not neu I think. Unique design though...and perfect for my deviant behaviour...

Ich liebe meinen Stuhl

Am Samstag bin Ich mit meinen kollegen nach Melaka (Malaysia) gereist. Ich habe ein "Racoon" Stuhl gekauft. Es ist sehr CUTE , nicht wahr?

Simply Beautiful - I celebrate Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding with an Englisch tea

Aw... wasn't it a beautiful wedding?

If not for the mildly annoying irritation from work (phone calls and emails), which made me miss the part where Kate Middleton alight from the car. The second I saw that dress, I instantly knew it drew inspiration from another famous princess's wedding dress, i.e. the late Princess Kelly, when she married Prince Rainier. That other dress became very famous because of its simple elegance and modesty. 

I must admit I was a bit turned off by the fact that it looked so similar to Princess Kelly's. Sigh. I was expecting something modest, but not something so lacking creativity...

I was so excited by the event that I took half day leave and carried my laptop home with me to continue working. I had bought some cakes, so you can imagine how deadly exhausted I was hauling all that nonsense home. Only the expectant thrill from watching the wedding lent my leaden feet strength.

Mutter and I consumed some of the cakes with some lovely English tea. What a perfect afternoon, if not for work and my Vater mocking at the entire event (he was very determined to ruin the entire experience) *roll eyes*.

Ubinuri - Android Distributor with Integrity *Thumbs up*

Some months ago, after I just released BurgerStacko, I received this email from this Korean company, Ubinuri, saying that they are the biggest distributor of Android applications in South Korea. But I ignored them as my usual wont *haha* since I was just coding for fun, and also I googled the company to see if others had actually worked with them before. At that time, I think Ubinuri had just started mass mailing every developer, so everyone was curious but no one took the bait.

Later came this news that all video, computer and Web-based games sold in South Korea are required to be reviewed and rated by the state-run Games Ratings Board, 게임물등급위원회 Geimmul Deung-Geub-Wiwonhoe (GRB). So Android Market had to remove all its games. Then came this email from the same dude from Ubinuri, this time saying he would pay me USD200 to distribute my free game. And I read a google result showed that someone did get paid. Besides my game is free, so I have nothing to lose right?

By then, I had abandoned BurgerStacko because the Android users were too harsh for my fragile ego. I replied them that I would work with them, on the condition that I didn't have to change the code base much.

In the end, I still had to make three changes, two I agree with, one I didn't. But the important part is, the guys at Ubinuri (three of them, S, T and F) whose patience I tried very much, first with my slow coding (very stressed with my new project at work) and then my totally noob job of filling in the wrong bank account number, are very nice guys. I would say it was worth it working with them.

And today, after the totally shit day I had (this bitch cancelled the meeting and didn't tell me, and I was soaked to the skin from the heavy rain, and then waited 1 hour in the cold air-con. I now have a fever of about 37 plus degrees), I come home to find that the banks have processed the payment.

Fantastic.. Except, eh... why so little? JP Morgan took a cut *fuck* USD21.50 and then POSB also took another cut of about S$10 when they already earned from the exchange rate. Fuck man. This is daylight robbery. Next time I will ask the guys to mail me the USD. I'd rather risk the chance of robbery via snail mail then get robbed legally by banks. Not like I asked those stupid bankers to jump through hoops or something. Neighbourhood money changer  is more honest than these bastards!

But I digress. I am going to do my bid for my poor fellow Android developer community and tell them you can trust Ubinuri =D. They have demonstrated integrity, honesty and patience. So if you get an email from the Ubinuri guys to distribute in South Korea, do work with them!

A Tale of Too much German

My Christmas present from B1 this year. With this, my total German haul = 6 books for Christmas. This doesn't include my existing collection. Oops! Haha. Must work hard, ok? *telling myself* Gambatte Ne~

PS: Excuse me, I am a bit high from lack of zzz. I can't even type the words out properly. This should be fun.

Tante giveth most excellent booty today

Tante popped by this evening to partake in Vater's Chilli Crabs and pass me the most excellent assortment of gifts I ever gotten from anyone. She outdid her previous gift of a lovely small oil painting from her Europe trip.

She brought me the free Cathay movie tickets which I missed out on (for some bizarre reason I forgot to read the English newspapers today), the Elizabeth Arden which is so coincidentally one of my fave scents, a wallet (?) and ... a portable harddisk.

Holy crap. A hard disk!!! Fantastic, just when I was thinking of triplicate-backing up my dev envt, here pops in a free hard disk. I am ecstatic!
