Mig 29

I could not capture the entire plane because there was a stupid man leaning against the railing yakking on his handphone. Selfish jackass.

This is a Russian plane owned by RMAF. Planes of this model were used by the RMAF's Smokey Bandits for the aerial display.

Gulfstream @ Singapore Air Show 2012

What is this? It's a leather-covered porcelain throne!!!
I am so glad I got to go to the Air Show. If I had chosen to go on Friday like my colleagues had, I would have ended up missing the entire thing, since in the end, no one on my floor went. zzz. Even though I ended up going alone on a Thursday, I got to know this super friendly uncle at the event, who took me around and taught me a lot of fun stuff (I was vaguely annoyed that he didn't tell me I was swigging from someone's leftover water bottle though...)
Think Atas... think Gulfstream

For one thing I would never have gotten to see the interiors of a private jet. Waaaah...

So this is how the rich live... There were two Gulfstream jets that day and I was lucky enough to be able to see both.

Lucky Onkel gets to fly in this...

Boeing Dreamliner 787 @ Singapore Air Show 2012

One thing good about trade days. You get to see the stuff that public won't get to. Keke.

That's why I am sharing this out to everyone to have a look-see. This as well as the interiors of the private planes like the Gulfstream, Hawker Pacific, etc. Eat your hearts out, dudes =D

Let's start off with the Boeing Dreamliner 787 which everyone simply had to queue up for, which was also totally worth it from a souvenir hunter's viewpoint because one could get a sticker, collar pin and a lanyard.

Cockpit

I left a little something behind

When I saw the words "Legacy of Heroes" whilst queuing to clamber up the Boeing Dreamliner 787, I could not help but think of my beloved "Company of Heroes"!!!!
Helicopter in question
Sikorsky has a helicopter on display where you can scribble crazy messages with a black pen provided by the very friendly overseers. =D If you are heading down during the weekend, see if you can spot mine!

Aerial Display @ Singapore Air Show 2012

Pièce de résistance of the Singapore Air Show 2012 was definitely the Aerial Display.

I liked the RAAF (using Roulettes) most, because of the change in formations,  followed by Tony Blair (Rebel 300), though I didn't manage to capture any of his pics. His show was too exciting and his plane, too small to capture on my shitty cam. I even missed the part which happened a few times, where the RSAF F15 and F16 flew over each other.

This is for you Karirin - SAAB

By the time I reached this booth, it was closing time, and I was mechanically taking photos because my brain had hazed over with all the meetings that were being scheduled for tomorrow.
I realize now that if I had looked down, I would also see the word SAAB

I was fascinated by what the man was doing, and explaining to us, when I happened to look up and noticed that we were at the SAAB booth. Yes, Karirin's beloved SAAB.
But I was very tired, and so was the camera (battery weakening). On hindsight, it seemed the shots are getting worse, but I didn't realize and was too tired to QC. So sorry about that, Karirin.
So annoying they kept keeping all the weapons cos it's closing time

Singapore Air Show 2012 (Part 1)

What is this?
I was at Singapore Air Show 2012 today.

I had thought about it. Should I take the MRT through the morning's worst peak hour all the way to Changi Airport terminal and then still have to S$5? That would be stupid, because I live pretty near the hotels, so it would make more sense to take the hotel bus, even if it was S$10 one way.

I was later applauding myself on my decision because I got to sleep on a lovely air-conditioned travel bus, while others were packed into public buses where they would probably have to stand as well, despite S$5. Too bad the hotel buses only work on the trade days because most of the vendors will return before or on Saturday.
I guess it is more fun when you come on the weekends because they have all the fun stuff for families to enjoy. Also the USA Department of Defense is giving away the good stuff (souvenirs, duh) only on the weekends. But one thing good about going on a trade day is that you get to see the stuff that most people won't, and there are definitely LESSER PEOPLE shoving into your shots.

Do remember to bring hats, sun block, lots of water, and patience. =D Two years ago, I was selfless enough to forfeit my trade pass and pay $$ to go with B1 on the weekend. Not anymore =D.
