I must cut back on my Company of Heroes

I thought that I have finally cured myself of my addiction to CoH with my 14 days of withdrawal (while in Hanoi and later flu). Apparently not...since Friday I have been playing a lot of Steinwall, but that is with my usual group (I added two more friends, a Daddy from HongKong and another, a History major from US).

B1 is nagging at me to do my next game (plus I opened a can of worms, by telling the South Koreans that I was going to upgrade my Burger Stacko). Well, my next game is a bit more complicated, so I need to break down into two parts. So I will be building a simple puzzle game, leveraging on code from Juzzle (this game will be free on Android, if completed), before I move onto build the more complicated version (which I will definitely be charging).

That aside, I had an interesting conversation with Hongkong Daddy, who is a friend of Ductuan (my Hanoi friend). I had played once or twice with him because of Ductuan. He knew about my visiting the latter because he told him. I was waiting to start a Stonewall game with my English friend, when this guy joined with his USA friend (the History Major). I didn't play with them though because with his friend, they closed the number of slots available for the game and I had promised NoNick that I would play with him so I had to exit the game (but not before this guy requested to be my friend).

So later when we played together, I asked him what else did Ductuan tell him about my visit. He told me that Ductuan told him that I was a lady (remind me to tell Ductuan to keep it a secret, but I think it is already a very badly kept one). Then he invited me to visit him in Hongkong and said he would treat me to dinner. *???*

My Geography sucks more than my German

Really darn funny. I am not sure is it because I was high from lack of sleep, but yesterday, Jemand was asking someone else where he came from. He said he was "Niederrhein, 70km von Niederlande."

So I popped out and checked Google Maps. And then I went back and said "oh, Nord Deutschland?"

Epic Fail. No wonder the guy repeated what he said. Haha.
Now when I look at it. It is clearly WESTEN DEUTSCHLAND

Whatever it is, I AM TOTALLY happy, because there were some keen German speakers in the game, and they 絶対に refused to speak Englisch, when they clearly können. How do I know? Because when I was in game and couldn't think of the words in German, they could clearly understand me in English and then they replied in German. Hahahaha.

What is the most funny is that everyone asks me the same questions, and then praise me for speaking good German, when I have the same generic answer (just got pro at having gleiche Antworten)...

Noob Buster Warrior

I was really pissed that someone called me Noob Buster Warrior (making a play on my nick) in Assault. I think they mean that I only play with noobs so that I can trash them. Suck shit. Not everyone is as lucky as them, can find a team to play with every time. They are so damn gay, they have to hand hold each other in Assault.

Anyway I came back in my other profile (coincidentally my usual profile was locked because I was trying to join a game and the connection hung, locking my profile), a day later, joined their team and spoke only in German.

After we won the game, I chewed them out for calling me a Noob Buster *dickface*.

"Übrigens, du hast mir gerufst "Noob Killer Warrior".

Guess I showed them! Especially since I took officer (as level 10) and defended my territory against 3 different persons ( 1 level 13, 1 level 5 and 1 level 7, all using different soldier types) on my own. You see, actually officers will die easily if the enemy rushes them, but I hid and ambushed them one by one =D, playing the way only sneaky girls would *keke*.

I have to say, when it comes to saying rude stuff or whatever, COH has definitely improved my German a bit. Schnappi might say only a tiny little bit =D

I now have a family in CoH

Disturbing relationships always form when I play CoH. I think Assault is a game where the teammates are very important (other people might say that's the case for ALL Operations games, but I find that particularly so for Assault, which is my new obsession. I hate PK, and stonewall I think I can play fairly well as a team or by myself so I don't really care so much).

Yesterday I acquired myself a Daddy and Mommy. I suspect that that guy is a smurf. He's level 1 but he doesn't play like one. He sure acts like he knows me, and keeps calling himself my Mommy. My other friend, who was a smurf and turns out to be a person who used to play against me in Assault (but I shall not pursue the issue) then declared himself as my Daddy.

So now I am Baby Bear, with my own Daddy and french-speaking Mommy in Assault. Eat your heart out, Schnappi.

Online Friendships are ever so fickle and transient

A few weeks ago, I wrote about girl gamers. I quote myself sadly that "That's the problem with transient online relationships, everyone gets bored with a game after a while, and they either get a new profile or leave the game. And I do want to keep some of the friendships with the other gamers."

I remember at that time, the closest COH friend I had (well, the one whom I introduced myself to because I wanted to explore using his music for my poor Android game *temporarily still shelved due to lack of music*)  read this and he told me later when we were playing the game that "don't worry we will remain friends".

Well.

I am kind of depressed now. I asked my colleague to let me use one of his DSLR photos for my game *another one*, so I was surfing in Facebook with another friend's account. I suddenly recalled that I have not spoken to that friend much. Not since three weeks ago. So I casually popped over to his wall, and was stunned to see that it was his birthday 5 days ago.

I didn't know.

Seriously I would much rather not be right. I am rather upset about how inevitable the situation is. It's been a sharp change since our last conversation where we were even planning to meet in Berlin. In fact, I guess it is sort of affecting how I am approaching my other online friendship. I am worried that I will become too emotionally dependent, and then when he leaves me too, I will be dealt a terrible blow again.

PS. The worst thing about the whole situation is that I can't even wish him Happy Birthday. If I do, I am going to be sexposed as a cyber stalker (well I am, but there is no need to go around brandishing that fact right?)

I don't like people destroying my property

I need to cut back on CoH, as B1 and other people have been pointing out. It's a game and I am letting it spill into real life. Stupid me.

You know how I hate it when people bomb my base and/or church.

Just over New Year's Day, I refused to speak to B1 for one whole day because I thought that he bombed my base and men just as the game was ending. So what happened recently was that this Taiwanese *^%$ used his engineers to burn my church at the also incredibly stupid suggestion of my other friend. They thought it was funny. I did not think so. I was incensed and I wanted to ban him.

But I didn't, on account of my friend somehow being his good friend as well. Ironically it was because this guy asked to be my friend and kept joining my games that's how he got to know the other guy. Too bad my other gang was not around, otherwise I would never have let this guy into my game. This reminds me of something that happened in uni. What a sucker punch.. again.

So anyway the idiot went to bomb the railing with his rangers, and somehow managed to hit my triage center. Wtf is his problem?! I officially ban him. I don't care if people tell me I should relax and it's just a game. But I am stressed at work, and this is my only outlet for stress, and this guy destroys my property. To think I was magnanimous enough to repair his house after it was bombed. I have reached a point where I even suspect that Taiwanese ^%#@ of being a girl (strange right?). I need help. So as punishment I am cutting back on CoH, and returning to my Android development instead. I am also not going to add any more friends in CoH.

On the other hand, yesterday I was trying to play PK (need to increase friends in PK), and tried to add a guy. He asked me if I was German (strange, a lot of people has been asking me that, or they think I am American). I said no, but I speak a little and then he told me in German not to take it personally, before rejecting me... Is it because I am not German? or that I speak German??? Too bad for him, because I played an excellent game. Haha. Had the most kills. Of course this also depends on the team. If your teammate sucks shit, you're so doomed.

The only time I practise my German

Meinen Spitzname ist furchtbar. Spielst zusammen?
