[backdated post] Replacing the buttons on my dress

I bought these buttons while out with Bobo for FURY that afternoon. Luckily I bought 6 buttons, because I forgot that the dress used 5 itself (just nice, one for back up).

The old button was spoilt in the wash, and I couldn't find the replacement, so now I replaced the old silver buttons with gold buttons instead. Sewed them while playing Company of Heroes Stonewall. *lol*

Play Company of Heroes 2 Beta for free!

Onkel H told me about this via email last Friday. One of our other CoH friends told him this; anyone can play Company of Heroes 2 Beta for free by "liking" the game on the Company of Heroes facebook page.

Then you will be given a steam code which you use to activate the Company of Heroes 2 game by going to Steam and activating the code.

Procedure

1.  Download and install Steam
2. Copy your unique Steam code. Do not lose this key.
3. Open your Steam library
4. At the top of the window, click on Games > Activate a Product on Steam.
5. Follow the steps to insert your key and download the closed beta!
6. Cya there (actually no,  i need my zzz. :D)

I upgraded the version to the Company of Heroes (new Steam) version. I think that is the one to replace the existing setup, because from what I understand the game on Steam that runs on Quazal is still active too.

I must say I was damn depressed when I logged in and realized that none of my friends were inside. My entire friend list has been wiped clean...

WTF there is a Company of Heroes Movie?!

How come nobody told me about it? Wtf! It's is released in DVD on 26th Feb 2013, as a theatrical teaser for COH2 I guess...oh THQ, you poor baby you.

CoH2 - Eastern Front (sigh)

Ironically this date also marked the end of another CoH, meaning City of Heroes. It was shut down for good. Poor CoH fans. I know I would be extremely depressed if this happened to Company of Heroes. Everyday I pray for THQ and Relic's health.

Help! My tank is... drowning!?

This is what happens when you are looking at other parts of the map. 12ax7 pointed out that my tank was drowning, and we all had a laugh. No fear, the silly thing managed to drive itself out of the canal. Cool, isnt' it?

Shitty Relic CoH connection

I don't know if anyone else has been experiencing this but this whole weekend, I have been experiencing some really shit connection in Company of Heroes. I have been kicked a total of 4 times on Saturday itself, and it really made me mad especially for one of the games, because I had wasted 2 hours on it, and was already going to win when it happened. Totally denied me the chance to pulverize the enemy base. Pissed.

And that is how, I got 4 wins without major contribution. Damnit. You might think it is good, but I think my CoH friends will probably ban me :D for being such a leech, unintentional or not.

Clearing up the Friends' Closet

In the light of the new CoH coming out in a few months' time, and with the recent frustration I had online, I have decided it is time to clean up my friends' list. Like I was telling the guys, I have like 100+ CoH friends, but now with the game being so old, I have like only 7-11 guys online sometimes (I even have cases where I am the only one online, due to the timezone difference). 

I don't really like to play with people I don't know anymore, and friends wise, I now only accept people who have more than 1000 wins over losses (this is to sift out those bozos who create multiple accounts. It is already frustrating for me to have friends with multiple accounts) or are very funny people to talk to.

My little Company of Heroes Moniker

Only my CoH friends will be able to understand why I couldn't resist buying this handphone strap when I encountered it at the cashier's while waiting to pay for B1's birthday sake at Nipponya.

Initially I wanted to get this for C but after consulting Bär and Z, they have convinced me that any guy carrying this will be deemed very gay. Besides I like it a lot so much that I decided to keep it for myself.

How appropriate for its strap to be my favorite pink with pink sakura flowers *hehe*.

How do I know I play too much Diablo III

Yesterday I logged into CoH to play with T, but found R instead and played a stonewall. I had to resist smashing the barrels by the Manor for free gold and weapons. zzz.

I played so much that I missed out on International Museum Day on Saturday, when all the Singapore Museums were FREE ENTRY for the day. It was a technicality, since I already missed it in the Friday newspaper announcement.

I am now level 36 37 Monk. =D I was 15 levels behind B1, and now I have shot past him. We realized that Babarians and Demon Hunters are really better for fighting. Well, at least I can heal myself and others (as long as I stop propping my head on my left hand, and use the latter for the keyboard hot keys)

The AI that they did for Diablo 3 is really good. So in nightmare mode, the difficulty has been increased, so since B1 is a pretty useless (when it comes to defence) wizard, we depend on my fire ally as a pawn for the enemies =D

Oh if only they were three hot men...

I was chased around a bush by three Grotesques, while trying to recover my healing spell and drinking a healing potion. It was really funny, four of us going around a bush for two rounds already, when suddenly one of them actually changed direction. Impressed. I thought it could go on infinitely or crash (which happens when I am the coder *shameless hahahaha*).

Day 5 @ Level 37

Hallo DiabloIII Auf Wiedersehen CoH

CoH no longer holds much charm for me. Admittedly one of the few reasons why I play that game is because I want to practise my German, which is why I reach out to players in the game. Then after that, I stayed in the game because of friends I made. Since today I already have said German friends that I am happily in contact with, I think it should be time to call it a day on the game and move on, until CoH2 comes, and just play CoH on weekends, or when friends email me specifically to play on a certain date.

So that's why I am moving onto DiabloIII, which B1 got me, as a surprise after I saw it at Sim Lim Square while buying my anti-virus last week.

DiabloIII installation reminds me of work. Ominous sign. 

Company of Heroes 2 is finally coming

It had better not be EF in disguise, or I am not paying (my inner tight pussy is screaming. I wouldn't even play it when it was free, it had better not be it!!!)

Neu rules in Company of Heroes to myself

(1) Whoever tells me no rangers in USA stonewall can play by himself. I am not even fond of USA stonewall and only play it to humor 3 persons, 12ax7, Tancock and someone der ich denke meinen Freund ist, aber er nicht mich wie gleich sieht. I am not playing USA stone for the foreseeable future.

(2) I will not play once I am tired. Go to bed on time and face the reality that work sux & Arbeit macht mann Geld.

(3) I will sleep early on Friday nights and play with the Amerikans on Saturday instead of lurking till very late waiting for the Europeans who make me play stuff I don't like. I must buy groceries before I play if not I will get left with rubbish veggies that those aunties have ran riot over with their pinching fingers already.

(4) I will buy Diablo 3 and cut down on playing CoH until CoH2 is ready and Schnappi comes back. Level 16 is the highest I will ever reach so no use bothering anymore.
(5) I cut off making friends with fellow gamers outside game.

I finally got my 1000th win in Company of Heroes

Well, if you are wondering why this woman takes 6 years to get 1000 wins in one game, it is because she used to have another account which have several hundred wins, until she went crazy one day and deleted it, and then created a new profile with a super lame nick =D.

Speaking of lame nicks. 12ax7 tried to grift me the other day with a "jimcaviezel" account (I have an absolutely massive crush on jim caviezel's character in "Person of Interest"). Nice try 12, joke's on you, because I have 48 (as of today) persons trying to make friends with me, so I didn't see the account until recently. Apparently he created it several weeks ago. 

Anyway I hate the holy week, not what it represents, mind you,  but by the fact, that Company of Heroes is an almost dead town this week. It is almost as if anyone younger than 35 years old in this game are on Spring break or something. Only the Onkels, mich, the Amerikaners (yes, the irony is not lost on me) and the Brits were around (and even the Brities get next Monday *seething*). Even 12 is out of town for work his sport (which means that I got to sleep till 11am this morning *cheers*. Interestingly the Lobster and I made the same observation that we only come in during that insane hour for 12ax7. Such loyalty. As it was, the Lobster and I don't play with each other without 12ax7. Not sure why, especially since I knew the Lobster in his other profile for a long time ago.)

Google Translate to the Rescue! Forced to write in French

I am still mad at Kari for abandoning us for a week plus. Just kidding. Welcome back to CoH! =]

But seriously I needed his help yesterday when we were playing German stonewall with his level 20 Brit friend, SRB (something, too long to remember, and not interested enough to remember). You know how it is sometimes when you get an experienced dude in the chatroom before the game. He says the right things (e.g. "bank, grens") so you seeing his rank, misunderstand that he is not the talkative kind, not that he cannot speak your language.

Then the game starts and then that's when things get interesting because you realize oh fuck, this guy can't speak English. The rest of us, meaning Dracul (Dutch, some German, English), Herrmannmeier (English and German) and I (English, Mandarin and terrible German) began guessing what was his language. Dracul got it right when he guessed French (I should have known since Kari once told me this dude was his friend).

The dude replied "SRB", meaning Serbia.

That's when I pulled the one and only French sentence I know "Parlez vous Anglais?"

He said "Fr." "It" and something.

We get it. You can speak everything except German and English. We are fucked.

Careless me lost my engineers (we need them to repair HerrmannMeier's tanks). Dracul is rather not-on-the-ball sometimes when it comes to helping others repair. And HM lost his too. So we are stumped.... I popped out and used Google translate.

"SRB, avec-vous des Ingenieurs?"

He drew a yellow circle on them standing by the garage.

"Sil vous plait aider a reparer?" (I don't have a French keyboard, I guess he can still understand)

Again, circle around the garage. Damn him, he wants HM to drive there for repairs. No spoonfeeding. =D

I asked if anyone was making grens earlier (he was silent). So I told him I was making mortars "je fais mortiers. Faire Attention. blanc = mortiers" (white circle).

Everything was hunky dory, except for HM. He was infuriated because SRB who was very careful not to get hit by my mortars, was killing everything with his grenadiers. HM's tanks were totally not hitting anything. I asked Dracul to tell the dude in French to tell the guy to let HM upgrade his tanks. No go.

"Sil vous arreter? Laissez HM amerlioer ses Reservoirs?" I think about 80% lost in translation, or he was being a dick, because he continued killing. HM was really mad and said he was going to just play with iphone until the game was over. Even Dracul said "let the guy play by himself."

I was like "people level 20 what..."

Then I was infuriated too because he dropped his v1 on my precious Otto, Franz und Emil. *Pissed*. When I started screaming in English, the hornochse said "non my". That was when Kari popped in and said he was back. I asked him how to scold SRB for bombing my snipers, but he avoided the question. Bad Kari. :P

Dracul proved it wasn't him by announcing his and dropping. HM just said it wasn't him. I am pretty sure it was SRB. Whatever!

True Hero =D

While we were waiting in vain for Kari to show up last night, Day told me that he read on gamereplays that there was a real couple who met via Company of Heroes.

Being the usual Busybody/Cynic I am, I immediately set to googling it. Holy shit, I managed to hit paydirt (the link above). What are the chances in hell that this obvious geek managed to find such a hot girl? *jaw drop* I played this damn game for so long, and I only found one other female in this game, and yet this guy managed to find such a pretty girl, managed to convince her to leave her live-in boyfriend and shoot raw into her?
